The original is below.The devs certainly do their best for us. Every bug or question has been answered and followed up and as far as I know, has been solved. The bugs that I have encountered seem to be fixed now.So thumbs up for the developer!Read my original message for the rest of the game:This game certainly has its flaws, but it is a very nice game and its core usually works.At this time of writing, I experience crashes every time I try to do a rematch. No problem, I go back to the main menu and start a new game. One time, I had a crash mid-game (and I think I was winning). Too bad.But the devs seem to listen to these complaints and I am hopefully waiting for the next update.To talk about the game itself:- I didn't know the board game before this game came to Steam, so I can't tell wether it is a good replacement for the board game, but I actually believe that it must be because I can't think of anything the board game could have more.- The graphics aren't great, I don't mind and neither should you because you don't play this kind of game for AAA graphics but for the experience. Still, it would, in my opinion, be an improvement if the graphics were better because it pleases the eye.- The AI on EASY mode is way too easy, play it only to get started. But also on MEDIUM, the AI seems to be an idiot. Yesterday, I won on HARD and had the feeling that the AI should have seen it coming. Maybe EXPERT or IMPOSSIBLE will give me the difficulty I need, but I can't tell yet. Anyway, there is a multiplayer option if you want the real stuff.Short: this game is ok, but it needs bugfixes. I will change this review when those bugfixes have released.. Fun game, well presented by BlueLine.Worth the money imo.. It's not Go, but it's not chess.. It's like chess but WITH FRICKIN' LASER BEAMS.Took me a while to find the graphics options in the menu, the game doesn't look too good with the default settings. Also the UI could be better, like when you want to rotate a piece, the rotation buttons appear in the corner of the screen, whereas they'd obviously belong right next to the piece. The AI also isn't too stong but in the higher levels it will punish you for obvious mistakes.That being said, it's a solid game that I can recommend for chess & laser fans. And get the DLC too, the Beam Splitter does add nicely to the complexity.. Khet 2.0 is basically a chess-like game, but with lasers and mirrors. It's quite fun to learn, but after you figure out how to beat the most difficult computer AI, there's not much else to experience. It used to be impossible to find a live game, but now there is an ability to play other people while offline, but I haven't had any success in actually finishing a game this way.. The main game is good hence a recommendation. But could do a lot more in terms of options and the 3d engine is sluggish for what it is. A somewhat spartan graphics engine should be hitting a consistent 60fps on my spec yet it often drops below that. Even on lowered settings. C'mon devs, it's only a relatively small board with not a lot of pieces.Also, if you play with gamepad what's with the weird upside down pyramid you have to use to select pieces, that only works if you click on top right corner of a square? It's awkward and makes moving to the wrong square happen rather often. And there is no undo move (which would have been useful for beginners as well). Simply chess merely used a dot for selecting pieces and you didn't have to position it to the top right part of a square to select a piece.Keyboard and mouse controls are better but why not the option to just use the mouse without keyboard? Rotate piece left could be mouse wheel down. Rotate right could be mouse wheel up. But i have to keep reaching out for the shift keys.Good but could be better. It's never too late to add a bit more polish.. So I wanted to play a board game, but something new and simple. However, I did not want to sacrifice simplicity for complexity and strategic maneuvers. Then I found this gem. I felt like I was experiencing chess the first time all over again, but with a little more forethought needed.How was this classic board game not introduced to me when I was a kid?. A very good concept and quick to understand too.The AI is rather simple right now, but the Devs are increasing the AI's level with each patch.Game works very well without any problems (So far ;-) )The concept is to take out the opposing Pharaoh with your laser. To do this you bounce the beam from your Sphinx in your right hand corner into their Pharaoh. There are pyramids with 1 side mirrors, Scarabs with double-sided mirrors and Anubis 'Blockers' that can block the laser, but only from the front. You can remove pyramids by hitting a non-mirrored side with the laser, and Anubis can be removed by hitting the sides or back.Each turn you can move one piece, one square OR rotate one piece by 90 degrees.That is pretty much it for the rules! Quite simple in concept, but can be tricky when facing a real opponent!A very well made version of the Board game, without pointless visuals or silliness that could slow down or spoil the game itself.I would thoroughly recommend this game to anyone who enjoys games of logic, strategy and tactics.. It's like Chess with LAZERS.. nice game, makes you think 3 moves ahead....
