Horrible control scheme for movement with mouse/keyboard (WASD), also: first game ever that didn't recognice the additional keys from my G602. There are 1000s of games that manage to support keyboard/mouse control decently. Never understood why some devs seem to think that everyone MUST play with a controller. Automaic fail in my book. Damn game got me emotionally involved like in the old days. I’m very very sad ;-(((((((. I get it, Dark Souls is a masterpiece that changed the landscape of gaming forever. We all love it and we all want to pay homage to it. The blatant opening ripoff is a bit offputting however. Exact same imagery, similar dialogue, and want to be narrator. Whatever though, this has no bearing on the game itself, it's a bit undeserved. The controls for using a controller are broken. Press the block or lantern buttons has your character put away his weapons and just stand there like a turd. Found a discussion from April pointing this out and no fix or solution was supplied, only a useless dev response asking for a screenshot of control schemes. I tried replacing all controls manually but it still happens.. Game crashes every time I play it for some reason but he developer has been extremely helpful in trying to resolve the issue. Maybe when I can update my system it will work. I hate Dark Souls tbh. I think it plays like\u2665\u2665\u2665\u2665\u2665\u2665and is basically jank that gets a free pass.I got this for the visuals mostly. I wish I liked this better.I didn't enjoy the feel of the controls much. Fall of light is a pretty solid game despite a few flaws.(there may be a few spoilers here)I really enjoyed the story and the graphics and the atmosphere. Coming from a huge fan of the dark souls series, this game definitely draws from that sort of genre. There's no hand holding here and at times it was difficult to figure out your next move. But that was a welcome feeling that grew the more I played the game. There is no map. A lot of trial and error but usually with positive results.My only major gripes were the cut throat end of game, or end of getting a GOOD game if you failed even once to get the girls body to a ray of light. That was a bit too brutal. The player shouldnt be punished for one tiny mistake and letting a good 15+ hours all be gone to waste. There's no previous save file to revert to so your stuck with the not great ending and all your hard work is gone. I appreciate being able to continue my game knowing that I wouldnt get the good ending but still. a horrible design flaw in my opinion.My only other issue was after recieveing a sword from the blacksmith. I could very easily 1 hit EVERY monster in the game, and any weapon that I found after that sword was a useless find. even the boss battles were over in a matter of mere seconds. The first half of the game was hard and even brutal at times and I found myself very cautiously traversing the levels, but with that blacksmith sword...way too easy.Dont get me wrong, despite these faults, I loved the game. I found all the memories, but only collected 86 of the Shards of Luce. I Highly doubt I will go back and replay to find them all and to try and get the good ending. but we'll seeGreat effort on the game designers though. I hope to see more from you guys in the future.
